Billing FAQ
Trial & Getting Started
How long is the free trial? 14 days. You get full Pro plan features during the trial. No credit card required.
What happens when the trial ends? You're prompted to enter a license key. Without one, your system continues working with Starter plan limits (5 agents, 10 skills).
Can I extend my trial? Contact support@helixnode.tech — we can extend trials for teams that need more evaluation time.
Pricing & Payment
How do I pay? Through the HelixNode website at helixnode.tech. We accept credit cards and bank transfers.
Is there a setup fee? No. You pay only the monthly or annual subscription.
Do you offer non-profit or education discounts? Yes. Contact support@helixnode.tech with details about your organization.
Can I get an invoice? Yes. Invoices are generated automatically for every payment and available in your HelixNode account.
AI Model Costs
Does HELIX charge for AI usage? No. You bring your own API key and pay your AI provider directly. HELIX has no per-token or per-request charges.
Which AI provider should I use? That depends on your needs. Moonshot (Kimi) offers strong performance at competitive pricing. OpenAI and Anthropic are well-established alternatives. See the BYOK Models guide for details.
Can I use a free/local model? Yes. Use the "Custom" provider with any OpenAI-compatible API endpoint. This works with Ollama, vLLM, LM Studio, and similar local model servers.
Plan Limits
What counts as an "agent"? Each AI agent you create counts toward your agent limit. The system "Helix" agent does not count.
What happens if I exceed my agent limit? You can't create new agents, but existing agents continue to work. Delete an agent or upgrade to create more.
Do archived tasks count toward any limit? No. There are no task limits on any plan.
Can I have more team members than my plan allows? Existing team members continue to have access, but you can't invite new ones until you're within the limit or upgrade.
Billing Management
How do I cancel my subscription? Go to your HelixNode account at helixnode.tech and cancel from the billing page. Your HELIX installation continues working — it just reverts to Starter limits after the current period ends.
What's the refund policy? Full refund within 30 days of purchase. Contact support@helixnode.tech.
Can I switch between monthly and annual billing? Yes. See the Upgrading guide for details.
Data & Privacy
What data does HELIX send to HelixNode? Only license key validation requests. No task data, agent data, or user data is sent to HelixNode. The validation request contains your license key and a server fingerprint — nothing else.
Can I run HELIX completely offline? Yes, with caveats. License validation uses a local cache that lasts up to 72 hours, plus a 7-day grace period. For permanently offline deployments, contact us about an offline license.
What happens to my data if I stop paying? Nothing. Your data stays on your server. The HELIX software continues running with Starter plan limits. No data is deleted, locked, or made inaccessible.
Enterprise
What's included in the Enterprise plan? Unlimited agents, skills, and team members. SSO/SAML support. Hourly backups. Dedicated support channel. Custom SLA.
How do I get Enterprise pricing? Contact enterprise@helixnode.tech with your requirements (team size, agent count, support needs).
Do you offer on-premise deployment support? Yes, for Enterprise customers. We can assist with deployment in your infrastructure, including air-gapped environments.
